The full form of SC, ST and OBC are Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
These categories are primarily created to help the disadvantages and backward section of certain caste and tribes.
Sometimes also the minority, like Muslim belongs to OBC(M) category.
They have primary advantages of reservation in government jobs, higher education as well as in the legislature.
Article 16(4) of the Constitution has a provision for reservation for Backward Class from these scheduled and backward classes.
