Jk administration likely to open the colleges and universities in UT from ist feb in a phased manner

JAMMU, Jan 27: All the Universities, Colleges and Polytechnics in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will re-open for formal class work from February 1.

A decision in this regard was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, official sources told EXCELSIOR, adding "formal order in this regard will be issued tomorrow".

Higher Education Department Talat Parvez Rohella confirmed that all the Universities, Colleges and Polytechnics will begin face to face class-work from February 1, 2021 with strict adherence to the Standard Operating

Procedures (SOPs) for COVID-19 precaution.

The SOPs will be clearly defined in the formal order to be issued tomorrow.

*As schools and colleges reopen in February, SMC will augment its Mask Enforcement measures in Srinagar to ensure we continue to restrict and limit the spread of COVID-19.*

*All Public and Private Educational Institutes will be issued advisories to follow to ensure safety.*
