Srinagar, April 30: After isolated parts of Kashmir experienced a fresh spell of light rains and hailstorms on Friday, the meteorological department has forecast mainly dry and clear weather for next week.
Director MeT Srinagar Centre, Sonam Lotus told Rising Kashmir that rainfall and hailstorm was witnessed in Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban-Banihal, Gulmarg, Budgam, and parts of south Kashmir.
“From Saturday morning onwards, there is no forecast of any major rain or snow forecast for next 1 week,” he said.
Srinagar had recorded 11.4, Pahalgam 4.2, and Gulmarg 3.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday respectively.
As per traffic police advisory, subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs (Passenger) shall be allowed from Nagrota towards Srinagar on Jammu-Srinagar highway. TCU Jammu shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic, it said.
Meanwhile, Mughal road, connecting Shopian and Poonch districts remained closed due to the snow accumulation.
