1. Gujarat Assembly has passed the Freedom of Religion Act 2003 Bill that penalizes forcible or fraudulent religious conversion by marriage. The new law has provisions for three to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 5 lakh if the accused is found guilty.
2. GST Revenue collection for March 2021 has set a new record with the highest-ever collection of 1,23,902 crore rupees. The GST revenue collected is 27 percent higher than that collected in March 2020.
3. In Kargil, Rural Development Dept organized one-day Training and Awareness Programme for Self Help Groups under National Rural Livelihood Mission on 1 April 2021.
4. The Delhi- Meerut Expressway has been opened for traffic from 1 April 2021. The Expressway will reduce the travel time between Meerut and Delhi to 45 minutes instead of over two and half hours taken currently.
5. E-way bill system under Goods and Service Tax has achieved a new milestone in March 2021. More than 7 crores e-way bills have been generated in March which is the highest number of bills generated in any month during the last three years’ journey of the e-way billing system.
6. The Union Government has approved a 780 crore rupees project for the up-gradation of Kargil Zanskar road. Zanskar- Kargil road was declared a National Highway in 2017 by the Centre. This road from Zanskar valley, also connects Suru valley, Sankoo valley of Kargil Ladakh with the Highway.
