Srinagar, April 23: Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha Friday appealed to people to register themselves for the COVID-19 vaccination commencing from April 28.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Sinha in his series of tweets said that people in the age group between 18-45 years should register for the vaccination. Sinha also shared the link of the portal in his message for the same.
"If your age is between 18-45 years, register yourself for COVID-19 vaccine which starts from April 28, April, 2021on https://cowin.gov.in(sic)," LG office tweets.
In another tweet, LG informed that the vaccination drive for the people falling in the age group of 18 to 48 shall start from May 01.
Co-WIN is a platform for the citizens of India to register for COVID-19 vaccination and schedule their vaccination slots at the nearest vaccination centers.
Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a spike in COVID-19 cases.
At present, there are 9881 positive cases while Kashmir has recorded 1315 deaths so far.
Amidst a spike in Covid-19 cases in the valley, the government has asked all the concerned departments to seek help from influencers like religious leaders, youth icons, celebrities, public representatives to encourage people to take the vaccination.
