Srinagar, MAY  Isolated parts of Kashmir experienced light to moderate rain on Tuesday, and the meteorological department also forecasted erratic weather to continue till Friday.

Director MeT, Sonam Lotus told Rising Kashmir that prevailing weather conditions would continue till Friday afternoon and after that there are chances of improvement in current weather cycle.

"The present spell will not be continuous, but there will be intermittent pauses. Light rains occurred at Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag, Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla Gulmarg, Ramban-Banihal, and some districts of Jammu region,” he said.

Lotus said during the next 24 hours, rain will be accompanied by a thunderstorm, lightning, and hail at isolated places.

As per MeT officials, Srinagar recorded a low of 13.4°C against 11.6°C on the previous night. The temperature was 3.7°C above normal for this time of the season in the summer capital of J&K, he said.

Srinagar had recorded 13.4, Pahalgam 7.0, and Gulmarg 7.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperatures during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday respectively

As per the traffic advisory issued by the traffic department for Wednesday, no vehicular movement shall be allowed from either side on Jammu-Srinagar between Nashree and Jawahar Tunnel in view of maintenance/repairing of the road
