Srinagar: The J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) on Monday notified the date sheet of the annual examination for the class 11th students in Kashmir and Kargil division.

As per the date sheet, the class 11th examination will commence from December 18 and will culminate on January 5 of 2022.

The issuance of the date-sheet has put an end to the speculations about mass promotion to be granted to the class 11th students by the government.

The Joint secretary examination JKBOSE, Lal Hussain said around 84000 students -82000 in Kashmir and 2000 students in Kargil have been registered for the class 11th annual examination.

We have established around 903 exam centers in Kashmir and 23 centers have been designated in Kargil division as well,” he said.

The joint secretary examination said all the arrangements will be put in place as per the directions and guidelines issued by the government.

As already reported, this year the JK Board has announced 30 percent relaxation in syllabus for classes 11th students in their examination in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.

The relaxation is applicable for the students in Kashmir and Jammu division besides the students in Ladakh UT as well.

The students shall have to attempt 70 percent marks from the question paper which shall be treated as 100 percent for result computation.

The Board has also informed the students that the question papers will be set from the entire syllabus prescribed for the session and the students will have to attempt questions having a weightage of 70 percent marks instead of attempting all the questions.

However, the JK Board has reduced the time allotted for attempting the question papers during examination. The papers having three hours duration shall be having only two and a half hours time period for attempting the questions.

As per the government directions, the students appearing in the upcoming class 11th annual regular (2021) examination should carry parents’ consent along on each day of their examinations.

The candidates have been advised to wear facemasks and adhere to social distancing norms.

The heads of the schools where exam centers have been set up, have been asked to ensure all the Covid19 guidelines issued by the government for holding exams, are followed in letter in spirit.

The heads of the institutions have been asked to ensure adequate heating and lighting arrangements in the examination halls.

The BOSE notification states that the external practical examination will be conducted by the respective affiliated academic institutions at their own level immediately after the commencement of the theory examination.

"The schools should submit the award rolls of internal and external practical exams after issuance of the Admit Cards by the Board,” the notification reads.
