Dry weather to continue till Dec 14: MeT
No major snowfall expected in Kashmir till Dec 20: Lotus

Srinagar, Dec 09: The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Thursday said that dry weather will likely continue till December 14th in the region, while a brief spell of rain may occur at scattered places on December15th, officials said.
In the latest weather forecast advisory, Director MeT, Sonam Lotus said that they were expecting dry and clear weather in Jammu and Kashmir till December 14th.
“There will be mainly dry weather till December 14th. We are expecting light to moderate snow, rain likely at scattered places of J&K on December 15th especially over Zojila-Drass, Zanskar area. No major snowfall is expected till December 20th in both Union Territories.
There will be warmer days and colder nights in UT till December 14th, he said.
As per MeT data, Kashmir witnessed improvement in night temperatures and bringing respite from cold weather conditions.
Srinagar settled at minus 2.1°C on Wednesday night. Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 4.9°C. Ski resort Gulmarg recorded a minimum of minus 5.8°C and was the coldest place in the Valley.
The mercury in Kupwara has settled at a low of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius. Qazigund, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.1 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag recorded a low of minus 1.5 degrees Celsius.
 As per traffic police advisory on Friday, subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs(passenger) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.
 On Mughal road, subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs from both sides and HMVs (upto twelve tyres) from Srinagar towards Poonch shall be allowed on Mughal road. LMVs from Behramgalla 0800 hrs upto 1500 hrs.,  from Herpora 0800 hrs upto 1600 hrs and HMVs from Herpora 0900 hrs. upto to Kargil shall be allo1500 hrs.
 Similarly, no vehicular movement shall be allowed from either side on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road, reads the traffic advisory.
