The salary structure in the Indian cricket board is pretty simple and rewarding for the consistent performers. The players are divided into different groups according to their stature and performances in the international format. There are as many as four grading systems put in place for Men’s cricket while three for Women’s cricket.

Central Contracts for Men Cricketers:

The players are divided into four grades as per their performances. The players are then given an annual contract to remain associated with the board. The grading system in Indian cricket starts with ‘Grade C’, which apparently earns the least amongst the other groups while it ends at ‘Grade A+’.

The salaries mentioned down below in the tabular representation are the annual salaries which the Indian cricketers get through BCCI central contract. The central contracts are valid for a year. The cricketer named in the Grade A+ central contract list earns INR 7 Crores annually from the BCCI. The players in Grade A earns INR 5 Crores while players in Grade B and Grade C earns INR 3 Crores and INR 1 Crores respectively.

The above-given data is for the players who feature in the playing11 for a particular match. The BCCI also pays a sizable amount of money to the players who don’t make it to the playing11 as well. They get 50 per cent of the match fees.

Salaries of Indian Men Domestic Cricketers:

Besides playing remuneration to the national cricketers, BCCI also keeps track of the domestic players and pays them accordingly.

The structure for the domestic players is divided into three categories which are Senior, who has played above 40 matches, and Under 23 and Under 19.

Salaries of Indian Women’s Domestic Cricketers:

Similar to men’s domestic cricket, the women’s domestic tournaments are also organised by the BCCI. As per the latest updates, the BCCI has given a pay raise to the domestic women cricketers, who will now earn INR 20,000 per match. Earlier the women cricketers used to earn INR 12,500 per match.

Bonus for Indian Cricketers:

Besides all these central contract and match fees, the Indian cricketers also receive a rewarding dose, which is known as the ‘Bonus’, for achieving a feat in a cricket match that surely depends upon the format played.

The feat can include scoring a century in a Test, ODI or T20I match. It could be a five wickets haul in any of the formats.
