Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government Wednesday informed the High Court that it was proposing to shift from online to physical mode of education.
On behalf of the government, Additional Advocate General(AAG) Shah Aamir made a statement in this regard before a division bench which was hearing a Public Interest Litigation(PIL) seeking to make available internet services for the students of Uri in District Baramulla besides providing them access to telecommunication services. In-alternate, the petitioner had sought directions to the government to set up internet and telephone booths "kiosk" in each halqa of Uri.
After the statement by the AAG that the government was proposing to shift to physical mode of education, the division bench of Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey and justice Sanjay Dhar said the “the concern projected as regards the education of the children is taken care of.”
The AAG also submitted that a representation of the villagers on the subject was also being looked into by the authorities.
The court disposed of the petition with the direction to the authorities concerned to take due care of the education of the children of the area and take a decision on the representation stated to have been filed by the villagers on the subject.
